Founded in 2009 by locals passionate about Sydney’s outdoors, Royal Coast Walks have won local and regional tourism awards, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to your experience of this exciting new destination. Our awards include:

Your Guides
Ian Wells
Ian was born and raised in the Sutherland Shire bordering the Royal National Park. He developed a love of the outdoors whilst walking and camping in the park from a young age. He has bushwalked extensively in New South Wales and Tasmania and has trekked independently through the Pyrenees, Alps, Himalaya and Andes as well as many lesser mountain ranges throughout Europe and the UK. After nearly a decade exploring the globe, Ian returned home to Australia to found Royal Coast Walks. He takes great delight in sharing his ‘backyard’ with you.

Steve Anyon-Smith
Steve Anyon-Smith is a long time friend of Royal and Heathcote national parks, having grown up next to the park. He has a passion and talent for finding birds and other wildlife. Steve is the author of the popular Birdwatching Guide to Royal and Heathcote National Parks and has been guiding individuals, community groups, students and international birding tour groups in Royal for over 15 years. He is also active in bush regeneration projects in the park and elsewhere.
