About Us
Sydney Coast Walks, formerly known as Royal Coast Walks, are the Sydney walking people. We are a team of enthusiastic outdoors people who seriously love what we do – walking the coastline of the Sydney’s national parks. You’re invited to join us in experiencing something extraordinary as we create memorable hiking adventures.
The dream began when Ian Wells returned to his hometown of Sydney after nearly a decade of travelling the world. With fresh eyes he realised his own backyard was as extraordinary as the places he’d seen but with one difference – he had the advantage of local knowledge and a vision of authentic and environmentally sustainable adventure.
In 2009, Sydney Coast Walks became one of the first tour operators licensed by Parks to operate in Royal National Park, and a few years later, just the second company in the area to receive a 10 year Premium EcoPass license after passing a rigorous Advanced Ecotourism accreditation process.
Family Owned and Operated
Today, Ian is joined by his wife Tara, to proudly make Sydney Coast Walks family owned and operated, employing a dedicated team of guides and support staff who demonstrate the same passion and commitment to your experience Sydney’s national parks. Learn more about our team.
